The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that
— Rocky Balboa

ABOUT

A little about me because I want you to know. I think of myself as a fighter, a person who never gives up. When I am determined and set on a goal there is no one stopping me from getting what I want. I love the stage and acting because it’s a story we’re carrying that we’re giving to the people. A story that is etched into time and is everlasting. I believe, the stage and the art form does not belong to one person, race, system, or creed. I believe, performance reveals how each of us is connected and we share the tears, laughter, and energy of a world outside our own. A world where imagination is limitless, a world that I fell in love with when my real world wasn’t great. As a 12 year old who stumbled into acting in Jr. High. I realized over the years that I had a talent that came out through the characters I played and living in that world was easier than talking about how I felt about my real character Andrew. My parents divorced when I was ten and growing up came very fast as my father had mental health problems he was bipolar and had severe depression. His name was Abel Andrew Trevino and he passed away when I was sixteen. I use the hits and I keep running toward my dreams. A core memory between me and my father was watching the premiere of The Dark Knight. Watching Heath Ledger play the role of The Joker inspired me to act. Watching Bryan Cranston play Hal from Malcolm in the Middle and then becoming Walter White in Breaking Bad showed me storytelling and transformation. Jim Carrey opened up the world with The Truman Show giving me inspiration to go outside the box. Adam Driver in a Marriage Story gave me chills and ignited a passion for personal stories. I want to be an actor that is remembered for what he meant to his people and community. In my time at Fresno State within four years I acted in twenty shows as I was on a mission to be remembered. I want to be a mentor/ professor for other Latino students and give them the fire to persevere and see within themselves that they have everything they need in themselves. The presence of our culture in theatre and film must be felt and known. Our childhood dreams are always possible and my dream is to be a Mexican superhero and make it to the top of the mountain. I have the opportunity of a lifetime to risk it all and make my presence felt as my descendants worked hard to get me here. I have taken time to be away from acting to focus on my health, energy, perspective, and understanding of who I am. We only grow when we spend time with ourselves and discover our most authentic self. We only get better at our craft from seeing and experiencing new experiences and time away from the stories to play our own reality. In this year of 2022-2023 I will be furthering my education and auditioning for Grad Schools in the pursuit of my M.F.A. as my time away has lit a fire and I am ready to make the plunge. If in my life I set my goals higher than can be reached I will put in the work ten times over. Thank you for visiting and looking at this page and remember to give your shadow a hug. There is no light without dark.
